The Nikkei 225 Future is trading at 27,393.0 up with +0.69% percent or +188.0 point.The Nifty Future is trading at 17,962.5 with a loss of -0.95% or -172.0 point. The Hang Seng Future is trading at 22,211.5 with +1.76% percent or +384.5 point.
TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS
The BOJ’s surprise policy tweak on Dec. 20 to widen the trading band for the 10-year government bond yield had pushed the index lower.But the Nikkei has been on an upward trend since the central bank kept its ultra-loose policy unchanged at its policy meeting last week. It has gained 4.62% so far this month and is set to post its biggest monthly gain since October.
