Nikkei Futures Opening Update as on 18 June 2018

The Nikkei 225 Future is trading at 22,620.00 with  0.00% percent or 0.00 point . The NSE Nifty Future is trading at 10,793.00 with a loss of -0.20% percent or -21.65 point. The Hang Seng Future is trading at 30,065.00 with a loss of -0.64% percent or -193.00 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Asian stocks started weaker Monday as investors there finally got to react to official trade action by the U.S. and China on Friday.

Japan stocks fared the worst early, with the Nikkei NIK, -0.75%   down 0.8% following its ongoing strength in recent weeks and after a much-bigger-than-expected May trade deficit.

But South Korea SEU, -1.16%  , Australia XJO, +0.17%   and New ZealandNZ50GR, -0.02%   were all only barely lower — and the S&P/ASX 200 was testing Friday’s closing level after its end-of-week 1.3% jump, the most in just under a year. Markets in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan were closed Monday for a holiday while much of Southeast Asia returned after a Friday holiday.

For the day the Dow is trading at 25,090.48 with  a loss of -0.34% percent or -84.83 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,779.66 with a loss of -0.10% percent or  -2.83 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,746.38 with a loss of 0.19% percent or -14.66 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,680.33  with a loss of -0.75% percent or -171.42 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 30,309.49 with a loss of -0.43% percent or -130.68 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 3,021.90 with  a loss of -0.73%  percent or -22.26  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,607.38 with a loss of -0.041% percent or  -14.76 point at 12:15 PM.
