Nikkei Futures Opening Update as on 01 April. 2020

The Nikkei 225 Future is trading at 17,813.00  with a loss of -5.85% percent or -1,107.00  point.The  Nifty Future is trading at 8,153.30 with a loss of -5.42% percent or -467.65 point. The Hang Seng Future is trading at 22,929.50 with a loss of -3.33% percent or -790.50 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Traders headed for the safety of government bonds, the dollar .USD= and gold GOL/ as evidence continued to mount that the virus was sending the global economy into a deep recession. Nikkei .N225 slumped 4.5% after the worst plunge in factory activity in almost a decade. The pan-European STOXX 600 .STOXX sank 3.2% .EU and Wall Street futures ESc1 dived 3.1% .N after a dire forecast of likely U.S. coronavirus deaths. Trump warning about two dreadful weeks ahead and 100,000 – 240,000 deaths in the coming months is definitely putting a negative tone on the market,” said Societe Generale (PA:SOGN) strategist Kit Juckes. “It is pretty risk-off out there. It is definitely a day of lower bonds yields, falling equity indexes and tin hats.”

 For the day Nikkei 225 is trading at 18,065.41 with a loss of –4.50% percent or –851.60 point.the  nifty closed at 8,219.55 with a loss of -4.34%   percent or -373.20  point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 23,085.79 with a loss of –2.19% percent or –517.69 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 21,917.16 with a loss of –1.84%percent or –410.32 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,584.59 with a loss of –1.60% percent or –42.06 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,700.10 with a loss of –0.95% percent or –74.05 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 18,065.41 with a loss of –4.50% percent or –851.60 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 23,050.25  with a loss of  –2.34%% percent or –553.23 point. China’s Shanghai  Composite is trading at 2,734.52 with a loss of –0.57% percent or –15.77 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 28,495.28  with a loss of  –3.30% percent or –975.68 point at 12:15 PM.
