Nikkei Futures Opening Update as on 30 April 2018

The Nikkei 225 Future is trading at 22,440.00  with a loss of -0.31% percent or -70.00 point .The NSE Nifty Future is trading at 10,783.50 up with +0.56% percent or +59.75 point. The Hang Seng Future is trading at 30,673.00 up with  +0.01% percent or +4.00 point.


The benchmark is back near that level, and Chinese markets are poised to stay weak and volatile in the short-term “without major policies to boost the economy in China,” said Castor Pang, head of research at Core Pacific-Yamaichi International.

Late Wednesday, China’s State Council unveiled additional tax-relief policies intended to support high-tech companies, startups and small firms.

But Ivan Ip, a market strategist at UOB Kay Hian, said Thursday’s market movement showed investors weren’t interpreting the tax-relief policies as good news, and were instead concerned U.S.-China trade frictions might be spreading further into the tech sector.


For the day The Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,467.87 up with +0.66% percent or +148.26   point. the nifty closed at 10,739.35  up with +0.44% percent or +47.05  point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 30,808.45  up with +1.74% percent or +527.78  point.


For the day the day the Dow is trading at 24,311.19 with a loss of -0.046% percent or -11.15 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,669.91 up with +0.11% percent or +2.97 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,119.80 up with +0.016% percent or +1.12 point.

Other leading market index closes included the small-cap Russell 2000 Index closed at 1,556.24  with a loss of -0.11% percent or -1.66 point; the S&P 600 Small-Cap Index closed at 956.18 with a loss of -0.26% percent or ?2.52 point; the S&P 400 Mid-Cap Index closed at 1,892.23  with a loss of -0.16% percent or ?2.98 point; the S&P 100 Index closed at 1,169.90  up with +0.062% percent or +0.73 point; the Russell 3000 Index closed at 1,582.64  up with +0.074% percent or +1.17 point; the Russell 1000 Index closed at 1,480.04  up with +0.089% percent or +1.32 point;
