Nikkei Futures Opening Update as on 21 August 2018

The Nikkei 225 Future is trading at 22,223.00 with a loss of -1.49%  percent or -337.00  point .The NSE Nifty Future is trading at 11,495.30  with a loss of  -0.07% percent or -8.00 point.  The Hang Seng Future is trading at 27,652.50 up with +0.49% percent or +133.50 point.


Japan‘s Nikkei NIK, +0.09%   was 0.1% lower in morning trading, continuing Today’s yen-fueled underperformance as the dollar’s losing streak hit five days. The latest drop came after President Donald Trump raised some concerns about the Fed’s rate-hike cycle. The dollar has hit eight-week lows in Asian trading, falling to ¥109.84 versus ¥110.07 in late New York action and ¥110.60 when Tokyo stock trading ended Monday. The U.S. dollar has fallen in 10 of the past 14 sessions versus the yen through Monday. However, the Nikkei has been holding up rather well with just a 1.6% decline in August as of Monday’s close. Insurance and shipping shares lagged Tuesday, as did big names such as Toyota 7203, -0.53% , SoftBank 9984, -1.63%   and Fujitsu 6702, -0.25%  .


 For the day  Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,219.73 up with +0.093% percent or +20.73 point. the nifty closed at 11,563.45 up with +0.10% percent or +11.70 point.Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,727.56 up with +0.47% percent or +129.54 point. 


For the day the Dow is trading at 25,758.69 up  with +0.35% percent or +89.37 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,857.05  up with +0.24% percent or +6.92 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 7,774.12 up with +0.060% percent or +4.68 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 22,219.73 up with +0.093% percent or +20.73 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 27,681.15 up with +0.30% percent or +83.13 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,734.23 up with +1.33% percent or  +35.76  point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 38,263.51  with a loss of -0.040% percent or -15.24 point at 12:15 PM.
