Nikkei Futures Opening Update as on 03 Jan. 2020

The Nikkei 225 Future is trading at 23,605.00 up with +0.69% percent or +162.50 point.The  Nifty Future is trading at 12,322.50 up with +0.58% percent or +70.60 point. The Hang Seng Future is trading at 28,581.00 with +1.05% percent or +296.50  point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

China’s central bank loosened monetary policy a little, ahead of some big local debt sales and the upcoming Chinese new year. Asian and European stock markets have started with a bang on the basis of that and President Trump’s naming of Jan. 15 for the signing of his ‘phase-1’ trade deal with China. Tney’re not paying much attention to yet more weak manufacturing PMIs. And the minutes from the Fed’s last policy meeting are due later. For the day the Dow is trading at 28,538.44  with a loss of –0.37% percent or –106.82 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 3,230.78 up with +0.29% percent or +9.49 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at 8,972.60 up with +0.30% percent or +26.61  point.
